STAFF:

STUART T. LEERSSEN, LICENSED PHYSICAL THERAPIST, is the owner and founder of Haven Physical Therapy, Inc. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago, in Chicago, Illinois in July of 1999. He worked as a physical therapist, aquatic therapist, accredited clinical instructor, and outpatient orthopaedic and inpatient physical therapist at Advocate/Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, Illinois, until moving to Pengilly, Minnesota, in April of 2003. He worked for Radtke Physical Therapy as Physical Therapy Director in Nashwauk for nearly ten years before purchasing that business and changing the name to Haven Physical Therapy.

Stuart is licensed to practice physical therapy in Minnesota since 2003 and is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association. His key competencies are rheumatology, orthopaedics, geriatrics, musculoskeletal, neurology, general pediatrics, clinic research, rehabilitation, neuroanatomy, neonatology, physiology, and anatomy. While serving in the United States Navy, Stuart was a Parachute Rigger who packed and jumped 5 times with his own parachutes. He was promoted to Petty Officer 2nd Class during his 5-year enlistment and served onboard the USS Nimitz or at Naval Air Station Cecil Field.

JEANNETTE LUOMA, BILLING SPECIALIST, joined Haven Physical Therapy in February 2013 as the billing specialist. She previously worked for Radtke Physical Therapy in Grand Rapids as the office manager for three locations. After enjoying retirement for a few months, she brought her expertise to Haven Physical Therapy. She also worked as a billing supervisor at Itasca Clinic in Grand Rapids, AKA Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital, before joining Radtke Physical Therapy as the original office manager.

Jeannette has four grown children and five beautiful granddaughters. In her spare time, she enjoys sewing, crocheting, craft projects, but most of all her family.

ANGIE HENDRICKSON, OFFICE MANAGER, received her A.A.S and Occupational Therapist Assistant degree from Lake Superior College in Duluth in 1997.  She worked as a therapist for 17 years in the nursing home, outpatient / inpatient, and fitness settings. She decided to make a career change when the opportunity to join Haven Physical Therapy arose in June of 2015. She still wanted to be involved in the “therapy world” just in a different aspect.

Angie lives north of Nashwauk, is married and has two children. She enjoys watching her kids’ sporting events and spending time with family and friends. When she has time, she enjoys going for walks with her dogs.
